Tested before they reach you
Every build is now started and used on a Linux desk before it is published: Writer writes a document and has to save it under the right name by itself, Spreadsheet has to add up a budget, Slides makes a deck, Cabinet reads a receipt, Webmaster exports a site, Shell runs a command, Porter converts a file. The screenshots on this site come from that run.

In every app
Linux. Every app now has a Linux build, and the macOS builds run natively on Apple silicon and Intel.
One place for your AI key. Every app reads ~/.config/dbbasic/ai.env. AI had quietly stopped answering in all of them after a change in how Claude replies; that is fixed.
Documents save themselves. In Writer, Spreadsheet and Slides a new document is saved as you work and named after what is in it, with the date in front. Nothing is ever Untitled, and closing asks nothing.
Writer
Saves as you type; the file is named after your heading or first line (or by AI), dated.
✓ corrects spelling and grammar and changes nothing else: a correction that would reword your sentence is refused.
File, Versions brings back earlier versions (one kept every 10 minutes, the newest 50).
No more "Restore auto-saved content?" at every start: anything left after a crash is kept as a "(recovered)" document.
Double-clicking a document opens it; Enter makes real paragraphs.
Spreadsheet
One set of controls; undo, redo, find, export CSV and deleting rows and columns now work.
Numbers line up, with money shown to two decimals.
Formula fixes: a formula no longer turns into its result when you leave the cell; SUM over a blank start is right; formulas in added rows calculate; sheets past row 10 open whole.
Security: a formula in a sheet someone sends you can no longer run code; only arithmetic is evaluated.

Slides
A new presentation is one empty slide, not a sample deck.
16:9 slides; a slide list on wide screens; bold, italic, bullets and alignment that work.

Draw
AI pictures fill a new canvas instead of a corner of it, keep the whole subject in the frame, and can be wide or tall.
Cabinet (new)
The paperless office: bring in scans, photos and PDFs; it reads them (OCR for scans), suggests a title, date, sender and tags, and files them by year as plain files.
A PDF whose text comes out garbled is read by OCR instead, and the AI is never asked to guess from unreadable text.
Webmaster
AI on the page: write it for your site, add a section, rewrite, or correct spelling only. It never invents facts; it leaves [placeholders].
Menus follow your pages: rename, add or delete a page and every menu keeps up.
Pictures are kept inside the site; links, bold and tables in text; auto-save; one window per site; Ctrl shortcuts on Linux.
Publishing to your object server reports the address to share.
Shell and Porter
Shell reads your AI key from the shared file and uses Claude Sonnet 5. Porter: a new build for both systems.
